Parece que la universidad de Córdoba comienza a estar un poco al día y el viernes 30 lanzó una noticia sorprendente, a mediados de 2008 entrará en funcionamiento un parque de energía solar fotovoltaica, “Parque solar Rabanales”, que producirá 9,45 megavatios.
Con una extensión de 30 hectáreas, justo al lado del campus universitario, el parque será realizado por una sociedad de firmas como Solar del Valle, Parksol y la Corporación Empresarial de la Universidad de Córdoba. Estará constituido por 94 plantas fotovoltaicas, y suministrará energía suficiente para unos 5.000 hogares, con estos datos se convertirá en uno de los parques andaluces con mayor potencial generado.
Lo más interesante para los que estudiamos en Córdoba es que parece que habrá fondos que irán destinados a la investigación en energías renovables en este parque. El parque parece que va a estar funcionando para marzo o junio de 2008, lo que yo estimo que realmente será diciembre 2009 aproximadamente, por la experiencia que tenemos en proyectos relacionados con la UCO. Si se finaliza antes será porque hay empresas serias en el proyecto.
La verdad es que si lo gestionan bien puede ser muy interesante que la universidad crease algún tipo de curso extenso y serio sobre energía solar usando estas instalaciones. Si no fuese así, que es lo más probable, intentaremos movernos nosotros todo lo posible ya que está en nuestra ciudad y pensamos que sería una magnífica fuente de conocimiento. Si se cumplen los plazos los autores de este blog tendremos la oportunidad de conocer las instalaciones personalmente por lo que que ya las comentaremos de primera mano.
